Last oil change I installed this oil drain valve instead of the plug on the oil pan.

I had some concern about that nipple hanging too low, but it is shorter than the cross member just in front of it.
Now I can drain the oil without tools. I can also put a line (3/8″ ID drain line) on the nipple and drain directly into a container.
Clearly, if the valve fits into the existing drain bung, the passage through the valve is smaller than the bung. Hopefully the smaller opening won’t slow down the drain process too much. I’ll find out in 5,000 miles if this was a good idea or not.
****This unit ships with a clip to prevent the valve from accidentally opening. Don’t buy an extra one like I did. ****
