This was requested by the wife.
At the old house, she ran a string across the kitchen window to dry her herbs. She wanted something that looked better and would be more permanent.

Two plant hooks attached to the underside of the window soffit, two lengths of chain and a stainless steel rod.

I originally wanted to buy S-hooks and squeeze them onto the rod. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any hooks that were large enough to go around my 1/2” rod and thin enough to easily bend so I had to make my own.
I had a roll of fence repair wire in the garage. Cut a few lengths and folded them in half. I secured the ends in my bench vise and put a dowel in the bight. I turned the dowel a half dozen times while pulling up to get the twists fairly even.
Then I flipped the hook over so the round bight was secured in the vise and bent the hooks over the dowel.
The final step was to clip the ends off the hooks.
