One more garage project – sixteen more square feet of storage above each garage door.
Each shelf is a half sheet of plywood with 2×3 runners on each long side to stiffen the shelf & prevent pushing things over the far side, supported by the angle iron used to support garage door openers. I used 12 (two on each of these pieces of angle iron) lag bolts to anchor to the ceiling joists.

The highest point of my garage door opener hardware is twenty-seven inches from the ceiling, so I was able to hide these shelves above the garage door. I may hang some more beyond the garage door down the road.
