Birthday Chair for the Wife

Decided to make a nice chair for my wife to enjoy her garden. I did a google search for Adirondack chairs and asked her to pick the one she liked best. Thankfully she chose one that was within my abilities.

The fine folks at Lowe’s have the plans on their site.

I made mine out of all cedar, though the plans call for the seat and back to be pine.

Just like IKEA furniture.

Because my “workshop” is the driveway, I made all my cuts at one time.

Glued and screwed
These curves were fun to cut
Need to trim seat & back boards to fit.

Any guess on the wife’s favorite color
I used a wood rasp to ease the edges on the arm rests and seating surfaces
Exterior paint and stain over cedar. This should last a few years.
