Used the chainsaw caddy today for the first time. Not only was it phenomenal to be able to grab all the bits & bobs at once, there were two unexpected bonus features.
1) With the caddy, there was a designated fueling spot. I didn’t have to keep the scrench in my pocket & try to remember which tree I had stashed the fuel & oil behind. When I moved the fueling station because my work had moved, everything stayed together.
2) When I had to install a new chain, the cover & bolts went into the caddy. Much better than trying not to loose them in the leaves & twigs! The caddy makes field maintenance & repair a lot easier.
Downsides – it’s not all sunshine & roses though. The caddy needs one hand to stay stable, I think it is because the sides are too short. Also, the 3/8 line I used as a strap is a bit on the thin side; I was wearing a t-shirt and it was digging into my shoulder a bit. Had I been wearing a coat, this would have been a non-issue.
All in all, this caddy makes chainsaw jobs a lot smoother for me. Having all the tools, supplies, and field maintenance bits in one package means I can’t forget something that would being the job to a screeching halt.
