First scratch!!!

Luckily it’s on the center display screen.

Honda was kind enough to include a “microfiber” cloth to clean the screen. One day, about a week into ownership, I was cleaning fingerprints with the official cleaning cloth & it dug into the screen & scratched it.

🤬😡🤬😡😡🤬😡🤬😡

One scratch isn’t the end of the world, but if it’s going to get scratched, I’d like an easily replaced sacrificial layer to scratch. Then I can replace it once it gets bad.

Reading the instructions, it’s just like every screen protector you’ve ever installed on your cell phone.

Wet wipe, dry wipe, dust removal sticker.

The protector properly positioned

Dry fit the protector and use hinge stickers to hold it in place.

Peel off the backing sheet and voila!

I opted for a matte finish which makes the protector quite obvious when the display is powered down.

No more visible scratches!

So now the real question becomes, how long will this last?

EDIT TO ADD

Don’t get the Matte Screen. Yes it’s good as far as anti-glare, but the matte finish reduces glare by scattering light. In bright sunlight, the display is incredibly washed out. If the Ridgeline didn’t put critical navigation info into the driver’s binnacle, I would remove this screen protector. As things stand, I’ll wait for this one to show some wear before replacing it with a smooth finish.

With a bachelors degree in history, I turn wrenches for a living. I’m most at peace when I hear the wind in the trees or the gurgle of a brook. I’m a believer in the Renaissance Man, as epitomized by DaVinci engineer, artist, soldier, statesman. As Heinlein said, “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
