Utility hooks from Amazon.

Given the flat floor in the back of the Ridgeline and some spirited driving, the shopping can come a bit unsettled. I need a way to keep the bags from sliding about.

Honda has a $46 solution, where Amazon has a $15 solution.

Folding hooks attached to the under side of the back seats.

Of course the Honda version is plug and play while you have to modify these a bit.

An M6 screw fits nicely in a 15/64ths inch hole.

The Amazon hooks are designed to be attached to the wall and ship with a drywall anchor & screw. The mounting hole is a bit too small for the M6 screw that fits into the seat Ot took just a few minutes to open up the holes with a 15/64ths bit.

The screws in the truck are too short, so I picked up four M6x20 screws from big orange.

The Honda hooks are rated for 15 pounds, while the Amazon ones are rated for 30. Of course they may be about the same strength as these wall hooks aren’t intended to have dynamic loads.

There are six mounting points in the Ridgeline. The hooks come in a four pack. I chose to use the four outboard points, for easy access, but I may decide that it’s better to hang all four on the drivers side.

With a bachelors degree in history, I turn wrenches for a living. I’m most at peace when I hear the wind in the trees or the gurgle of a brook. I’m a believer in the Renaissance Man, as epitomized by DaVinci engineer, artist, soldier, statesman. As Heinlein said, “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
