First trip with the tonneau.

We decided to take advantage of the President’s Day weekend, and the generosity of some family friends and head to Cape May for a two night getaway.

Pouring rain for the two hour drive, but thanks to the tonneau cover, all our luggage stayed dry*.

Also, the five foot bed on the Ridgeline means that even the things that slid all the way up to the bulkhead are within reach without opening the cover.

I definitely need to add some lights to the trunk though. The reduced opening does make it dark in there.

*Luggage stayed dry. I’ve looked under the cover before actually needing to keep stuff dry. It appears that there are two places on the bulkhead where water comes in, flows down the front wall, and immediately though the bed drains.

With a bachelors degree in history, I turn wrenches for a living. I’m most at peace when I hear the wind in the trees or the gurgle of a brook. I’m a believer in the Renaissance Man, as epitomized by DaVinci engineer, artist, soldier, statesman. As Heinlein said, “A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
